Latest film project produced in collaboration with the CNRS:

AQUARIUMS

For this film, AQUARIUMS, shot in the research aquarium of the Roscoff Biological Station,

I sought to reveal and amplify the wonder, the unexpected, the beauty, the strangeness

and the fantasy of a world and phenomena invisible to the naked eye. The camera and lens replace the eye and become the tools of meticulous observation, a "microscope of time," frame by frame, in real time,

serving the representation of a strange bestiary. The only artifice used for these shots

is the use of painted backgrounds. These settings provide a stage and amplify the patterns,

textures, colors, and movements of the species filmed.

This work allowed me to discover forms I had never personally seen,

admirable architectures of incomparable visual richness.

4K DCI digital film - color

This film was produced as part of an "art and science" project, "Les Eaux Compositees" (The Waters of Composed Waters),

which was part of the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Station's creation.

It was supported by a grant from the Ministry of Culture and was the subject

of an agreement signed between the Roscoff Biological Station, Sorbonne University, and the EESAB Quimper site.

The EESAB, and in particular the Quimper site, would like to thank the partners who supported the project:

the Ministry of Culture and the Finistère Departmental Council.

Danièle Yvergniaux, Executive Director of the EESAB, Isabelle Kaiser, Research and International Project Manager at the EESAB

and all the administrative and technical teams at the EESAB Quimper site, are gratefully acknowledged for their continued support.

Warmest thanks to Catherine Boyen, Director of the

Roscoff Biological Station, and Marielle Guichoux, Head of the Station's Communications, Outreach, and Scientific Publications Department, for their continued and invaluable support.
